PRELUDE 1 & 2

Prelude 1 and 2 perform together, appearing in one recital per semester

Singers receive early musicianship instruction through approachable songs and musical games.

ALLEGRO

Grade 3 & Up (brief evaluation/interview required)

Allegro singers perform one formal recital per semester (December and May) and appear in the Cantabile All-Choir Concert along other eight choirs in May.

Allegro singers learn beginning vocal performance and stage presence skills and receive musicianship instruction (music theory and ear-training) through age-appropriate songs and musical games that engage the entire body.

INTERMEZZO A & B

Grade 4 & Up (brief evaluation/interview required)

Intermezzo A rehearses on Tuesdays from 4:30 - 6:15 p.m. Musicianship is designed for beginning-level students, covering the fundamentals of music reading and solfege.

Intermezzo B rehearses on Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:45 p.m. Musicianship is designed for building skills in preparation for promotion to Cantabile's performing choirs.

Singers build vocal technique, musicianship skills (30 min weekly), mind-body awareness, and progressing performance abilities through musical games, chants, dances, movement, and rounds.

Intermezzo A & B perform together, singing unison and two-part music in varying languages and styles, and appear in all Cantabile concerts (approx. 3 performances per year).
