Grade 6 & Up

Avanti A rehearses each Wednesday from 4:45 - 7:15 p.m.

Avanti B rehearses each Monday from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. AND each Wednesday from 5:15 - 7:15 p.m.

Singers strengthen vocal technique, build advanced musicianship skills (30 min weekly), develop mind-body awareness through yoga flows at each rehearsal, and increase performance confidence.

Avanti B singers (selected by audition) receive additional vocal technique training on Mondays.

Avanti A & B perform two- and three-part music in varying languages and styles. Avanti B rehearses and performs small group music and short solos. Avanti appears in all Cantabile concerts, the annual Gala (3 - 4 performances per year) and tours domestically most summers.

Grade 6 & Up, based on voice change

Con Brio rehearses each Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. (optional/encouraged to stay until 8:30 with Bravi)

Singers must demonstrate developing vocal technique, a changing (tenor/bass) voice, musicianship/sight-reading skills, and willingness to work independently in a partially student-led environment

Con Brio performs as part of Bravi, singing music in varying languages and styles, for tenor/bass voices, as well as mixed choir voicing (along with Vocalise). Con Brio appears in all Cantabile concerts, the annual Gala and Music Commissioning event, and engages in collaborations and community performances (5 - 6 performances per year), and is offered the option to tour every summer with Vocalise (mostly international).

Grade 7 & Up, based on voice change

Bravi rehearses each Monday from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Singers must demonstrate developing vocal technique, a changed or changing (tenor/bass) voice, musicianship/sight-reading skills, and willingness to work independently in a partially student-led environment

Bravi performs advanced music in varying languages and styles, for tenor/bass voices, as well as mixed choir voicing (along with Vocalise). Bravi appears in all Cantabile concerts, the annual Gala and Music Commissioning event, and engages in collaborations and community performances (5 - 6 performances per year), and is offered the option to tour every summer with Vocalise (mostly international).

Grade 8 & Up

Vocalise rehearses each Monday from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. and each Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Singers must demonstrate developed vocal technique, advanced musicianship/sight-reading skills, and willingness to engage in both staged and improvised movement. 

Vocalise performs sophisticated music in varying languages and styles, in four parts or more. Vocalise appears on all Cantabile concerts, the annual Gala and Music Commissioning event, and engages in collaborations (6 - 8 performances per year), and tours every summer (mostly international).

Grade 8 & Up (treble Vocalise singers only)

Aria members are selected from Vocalise, and are required to attend all Vocalise rehearsals (Mondays and Thursdays). 

In addition, Aria rehearses each Thursday from 5:15 - 6:45 p.m. and each Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. 

Singers must demonstrate superior vocal technique & musicianship/sight-reading skills, ability to learn music very quickly, excellent communication skills, dedication to Cantabile, and ability to work independently in a partially student-led environment

Aria performs challenging a cappella music in varying languages and styles, four parts or more. Aria appears on all Cantabile concerts, the annual Gala and Music Commissioning event, and engages in collaborations and community performances (8 - 12 performances per year). Singers tour every summer as part of Vocalise (mostly international).
