In my 12 years in Cantabile, Elena has taught me that singing is more than just singing. It is storytelling, resistance, connection, love, and eons more. It is giving a voice to those who are oppressed, or fighting for what is right. I feel that I have not only grown technically as a singer in Cantabile, but as a holistic person. Elena's thoughtful discussions, practices, and repertoire leave me feeling deeper in touch with myself. The incredible opportunity to go on international tours strengthened what I consider some of my most valued relationships, and exposed me to rare, genuine cross-cultural connections. Cantabile has equipped me for the future in a way I feel not even school does.

I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of this organization. There is no single entity in my life that has shaped me more than Cantabile, and I hope generations of students can continue to feel the same.
