As I round off my senior year, I have found myself reflecting on my journey thus far, and how much of who I am today has been molded by my experiences at Cantabile. When I joined Cantabile at 8 years old, I had no idea what to expect. I had no real experience with singing, let alone singing in a group. But when I arrived, I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere of the students and teachers. Ever since then I knew that Cantabile was a community where I could feel safe to learn and create art.

As I continued as a singer, I learned music and theory with my peers, becoming a stronger and more confident vocalist. But above all, Cantabile has always emphasized the power of music. Across all my years here, music has been a guiding light, propelling me forward in my journey. Every time I go to a rehearsal, I am inspired by my fellow choir members' commitment to excellence, command of emotion, and dedication to creating beauty. We truly put our all into exploring music from all time periods, from all kinds of people, to tell stories of hope and change. As I have grown together with my friends at Cantabile, I can say that I’ve found a community whose values I will take with me as I continue to learn and grow.
