Cantabile never quite fit the mold of a traditional “youth choir” to me: it has always felt more like a community that occasionally comes together to sing phenomenal music. It’s also broadened my understanding of music, from the variety of genres we sing to the detailed techniques needed to execute in the most prestigious of venues. But beyond the performances in grand (and sometimes a bit stuffy) concert halls, the impromptu performances sitting on benches on hot European days, walking through old abbeys, and even just at rehearsal breaks have been the most endearing moments where I’ve truly been able to embrace and interact with the Cantabile community the most: through music. I’m incredibly grateful for the years I’ve spent at Cantabile, for all the moments, songs, and friends, I’m excited to take my next few steps with those memories in hand.
