"When I joined Cantabile in 3rd Grade, I was dealing with severe social anxiety. I always knew I loved music, but I preferred being sat down at a piano, as I was incredibly shy. However, having the opportunity to be surrounded by kids who loved music just as much as I did gave me the motivation to use my voice as part of my art.
Cantabile has nurtured my passions and helped me grow as a musician, artist, and leader. The camaraderie among singers both in and out of rehearsal was invaluable, and being on both the giving and receiving end of student mentorship had taught me so much about collaboration and instilled a sense of community for me.
Through the past 10 years, I’ve learned so much, from the distinction between different seventh chords to Estonian diction to the festivities of stomping cabbage in Latvia. Every rehearsal, tour, and concert has shaped me, and I could not be more grateful for all of the opportunities which Cantabile provided me.
