A fond farewell

Founding Manager Ginny Hauser says goodbye

Cantabile Children's Chorus bids an emotional farewell to administrator Ginny Hauser, who is relocating to Washington state this summer. Since day one, Ginny has managed Cantabile with dedication and loyalty. Her steadfast presence, attention to detail, and ceaseless hard work kept the organization afloat during its fledgling years. Since announcing her resignation, Ginny has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition to a new administration. In addition to running the day-to-day business, Ginny has been organizing files and archives, generating task lists, and finalizing arrangements for next season so as to leave a "clean desk" behind her when she departs.

Ginny's resignation has been the catalyst for an organizational restructuring which will combine all administrative functions of Cantabile with that of its parent organization, the Baroque Choral Guild. Work is under way to consolidate important management and administrative operations such as bookkeeping, fund raising, publicity, and volunteer coordination.

While spending many extra hours behind-the-scenes working on transition issues, Ginny is also preparing to participate in the artistic side of the operation. For Cantabile's Spring Concert Ginny will be playing her flute in "So we'll go no more a roving," a song written especially for her by composer Brian Holmes.

Before the end of the year, Ginny will be on hand to assist in the last three appearances of Cantabile's singers - the Spring concerts at Le Petit Trianon in San Jose and St. Andrew's Episcopal in Saratoga; and the Baroque Choral Guild's two performances of Bach's St. Matthew Passion. She will continue through June to work on Cantabile's summer workshop and the final hand-over of supplies, hard files, and floppy disks.

Cantabile and the Baroque Choral Guild cannot begin to express the depth of their gratitude and appreciation to Ginny Hauser for all she has done and been for the organization. We are very sorry to see her leave but wish her a wonderful, musical future in her new home. We are also sad to say goodbye to her husband, Carl, who has been a long-time member of the Guild's adult chorus.
