Director in demand
Guild music director Mitchell Covington has been tapped by a number of organizations, all saying We Want You. On January 29 he conducted a sacred choral reading session at Byron Hoyt Music Company in San Francisco, sharing the podium with Albert J. McNeil, founder of the Jubilee Singers of Los Angeles and composer/arranger Larry Farrow.
He has recently been invited to be a guest conductor for a Schola Cantorum sing-along next summer. This is the first time a BCG conductor will participate in this long-standing Peninsula summer sing series. And on March 9 and 10, between BCG chorus's concert rehearsals, Mitchell will fly to Los Angeles where he will present two sessions at the ACDA Western Division convention.
