25th Anniversary Season
Our years in retrospect

In August of 1979, about a dozen of us sat around the kitchen table of Betty Kaplan’s home—eating pizza, drinking beer, and unwinding in a relieved daze after having resigned en masse from the board of directors of the California Bach Society. “Now what?” we asked ourselves. “I want to make music!” Betty declared. So right then and there we founded the Baroque Choral Guild.

Message from the President
This fall is the culmination of an exciting year for the BCG family, marking the beginning of the 25th season for the adult chorus and the 10th season for Cantabile. It is a time for us to look both forward and back, as you will read in other parts of the newsletter.

A Parent’s View of Tour
The highlight of Cantabile’s recent trip to Europe was a day spent with the Vienna Boys Choir. After a warm welcome, the singers had a private workshop with head conductor, Professor Gerald Wirth.
